Contrary to popular opinion, I do work sometimes ... honest . I have two screens on my PC, when there's cycling on somewhere on the globe, I often have it streaming on screen two, whilst working on the other. I'm sure we all know ITV4 stream the TdF etc. when it's on from here: www.itv.com/itv4/This site is good for keeping an eye on other TV stations around the globe: www.cyclingfans.com/

... and a little pointer, as there's cycling on right now from Qatar - you need to suss TV schedules in relation to the local time of the channel involved - they are 3 hrs ahead and running it from 14.30 - 16.30 their time (11.30 - 13.30 our time) and again later. www.en.aljazeerasport.tv/Live/channel/global

I just replied to this thread on the "new" site. A useful link for those wanting to stream cycle racing is www.steephill.tv/

That's right Arny. Its just another distraction from getting any work done or even getting out and riding the bike. We are in the middle of the "classics" season now. The second day of that Flemish race with the difficult to pronounce name is on Eurosport this afternoon. Sagan won yesterday and looks a good bet for today too but Cav and the pure sprinters might have a chance.

The streaming tv is quite often Eurosport - I do have Sky but it's not in my office space (or I really would never get anything done) b4 anyone decides I'm a freeloader ! The nice thing about streaming to a second screen is that most of the races probably only have a few minutes where you actually watch the screen, unless I'm drafting some heavy document and need total silence, then the commentary makes up for lack of co-workers - ups and downs of small business .

My sentiments entirely Rads. Its nice watching the countryside roll by but it can get a bit monotonous and, as you say, the action usually takes place in the last few kms. There is nearly always a breakaway for the benefit of sponsors and the breakaway almost always gets caught.
I really enjoy the laid back commentary from Eurosport particulary David Harmon assisted by Magnus Backstedt. Sean Kelly was a legendary rider and no doubt a fountain of knowledge but his repetitive comments send me to sleep which is not a great idea when I am trying to work at the same time.

Can't help but think Sagan gave the others a chance - I know he's saving up for Flanders .

You could be right. Maybe Cannondale decided it was Viviani's turn. He did come second in the end.
I have watched most of Cav's victories over the last few years and rate yesterday's as one of the best. He obviously has tremendous acceleration & speed but he also superb racecraft and knows where to position himself and time his run to the line. Yesterday Omega made it really hard for him by leading him out too early meaning that he was swamped in the last 200k. He really had to dig deep to get out of the pack which had a stellar line up of sprinters in it. I bet he still misses the old HTC train which worked to perfection on most occasions.

Did you see the interview? He poo-pood the day before as not a real sprint finish (looked like one to me): had a dig at the Eurosport boys on mis-judging him but let slip 'I'm not young anymore' - he doth protest too much - think he is great, my lad always asks where he is in races and he's a good role model but he's not seeming quite as invincible as of old; might just be a phase though, that's the fun of racing.

I'm with you Rads, I think Cav is fantastic. Great for the sport, and a proper team player. But I wouldn't look into his results and form too much yet at this stage of the season. He will of course take any victory he can, but IMO, his whole season is geared towards the Tour de France. He doesn't want to reveal too much to his rivals. Plus, he is still getting to know his team mates, and how they all ride. Just my thoughts Zeb

True and I can see Sagan just getting better and better and a few other young 'uns also steeling the carcass - I get the impression that his top dog position is under threat a little but like you say, they're all playing mind chess as well as bike racing.

I agree that Sagan is getting better all the time, and he's still a young man in the peloton. But I just get the feeling with him that he's starting to get a little bit cocky. Starting to think that he is above everyone, and has a divine right to win every race. I hope I'm wrong, because he's the complete package, and fantastic to watch. I hope he surrounds himself with some level headed advisers, because he could go on to be one of the all time greats. The world of sport is littered with top sportsmen/women who had it all and let it go to their head, and never fulfilled their promise, I don't want to see that happen to him. Zeb

Chapeau Cancellara. Sagan may be getting better and he is a great talent. He was simply outclassed by Spartacus on Sunday.
