Well someone had to say it. I've had a Charge Spoon for a while and whilst it's OK I'm afraid after 2hours, butt pain kicks in despite good quality shorts. I'd like to ride longer than that so the question is . Do I try a Brooks?
I had one on my team Raleigh when I was young and remember it being very comfy. It might look a little odd on the T3 but it might do the trick. Or do I persevere with the Spoon and hope my bum hardens up? Thoughts please Tribanites.

Saddles are a personal thing. Recommendations from others are bit pointless. I personally found stock saddle not too bad on my t3 but bit sore after 90mins or so. New charge spoon so far ridden 3hrs without any issues at all! Never tried brooks but hate the way they look!

I think the only problem with a Brooke's type saddle is they have to be broken in. You can get 'racing' style one. They look quite cool. I think there was one on the t3 that CA upgraded a few months back.

I thought that the B17 was more a touring saddle. I've got one on my tourer and it's the dogs bollox. Very comfortable. I wouldn't want it on the Triban though.

Other - if weight is no issue, then look at the Spa cycles Nidd for ยฃ35. Almost identical to the Brooks at a fraction of the cost. Had mine for 1000 miles so far, was comfy out the box and feels better now.

Ooh im the killjoy again, I'll he frank, รฎ hate brooks saddles I think they are ugly and weighty as Jeremy kyles next guest,, I wouldn't own one but I can still see the attraction, its a seat for life, I kinda like the quirkiness of having to care for it, the comfort is meant to be second to none but its ugly, uuuhhhhggggleee I tell thee

I'll have to buck the trend and say the Spoon was the most UNcomfortable I have ever tried.....the stock one was pretty good but my leather Selle Italia is wearing in nicely. I for one LIKE the old skool look of a Brooks - but never had one. Saddles a bit of a lottery IMO. Everyones bottom is different. (I Hope!)

My vote would be for a Selle Italia Randonneur Flow Leather, like the look and very comfortable (to me anyway)

Yes, the look. I would have no problem mounting a b17 on an old school racer but it is a bit clunky for the T3. The Selle italia is an interesting thought. did you get the Randonneur Flow Leather as well widge?

Yet I am collecting reviews before I go forking out my hard earn cash. It's sad that you can't try before you buy - most certainly not with Internet base companies. Can you buy a saddle try it and return it if it doesn't work for you? Anyone tried that?

I would never buy one.

I think technically you can return according to the distance selling regulations. however, when the item has been used I'm not so sure

any of the Brooks haters ride one? what i'm looking for is a saddle to ride 40-80 milers and the Charge Spoon isn't it. Not for my bum anyway. Looks are coming second to the removal of butt pain after 2.5 hrs
