i have an AF720 it is comfortable in my view, ultegra works well, very smooth transition in the ratios. at the end of the day its your bike. as stated, what do you want to do on it. but if your one of those people who have the budget, and would look back in a few months time and say "I WISH" then buy the bike you want.

We're hoping any time now, I'll see if I can find out more tomorrow. Picturing the scene... chas turns around: 'Hey, Pierre, when's the GF AF due in?' Pierre looks up and gives a Gallic shrug. 'Any time now' says chas A colleague who is eagerly awaiting one to buy for himself asked 'Pierre' (aka Peter Lazarus the UK sales manager) a few days ago and was told they were expected within a couple of weeks, whether this was accompanied by a gallic shrug is unclear... At present there is no due date given on our ordering system, but they are shown as a current rather than new model which is promising.

That is a smart looking bike and right in my price bracket! How heavy is it, I wonder? Under 9kg with disc brakes would be OK. Thanks for the link chas!

According to the preview on road.cc. that chas posted a link for a while ago they were predicting... " We didn't have the road.cc scales of truth with us but we'd expect the bike to weigh in at around 8.5kg in the SRAM Rival build."

Out of the poll I actually think I'm going to go for a 540 lol, what would I need to do to make it full 105 (ocd sorry) plus want to pop on 28/32mm tyres and this is the only frame to give me enough clearance

You can't get 105 deep drop brakes but the 900 af is full 105 and will take 28mm tyres. There's nothing wrong with the chainset and brakes on the 540 though.

I emailed decathlon and they told me the 900af would not take 28mm on the front? If it does then we have a winner

I've laid eyes on the mythical beast My colleague's 520 afgf arrived in store today and looks really nice, comes with 28mm Mavic tyres on the Ksyrium disc wheels and they've even corrected the spelling of disc! If only it came with mudguard eyes I'd order one now, as it is I'm still tempted but will wait and see how it performs on the road.

done some research, 25c tyres on ultegra 28c on 105 due to a slightly different arch profile on the callipers. shame because I have ultegra.

GVA used 105 brakes on his Roubaix winning bike for the extra clearance.
