Each year i set my milage target higher, looks like i'm not going to hit target this year so maybe attempt the same for 2017.
Booked to go Italy in May for the weekend so it's going to be something like Mortirolo on the Friday, Stelvio on the Saturday and finish with Bernina on the Sunday.

That book is great: I've built a few wheels using its instructions, and they've worked out very well. Building wheels is surprisingly enjoyable, too, in a meditative sort of way (that said, I've not encountered any major problems along the way - it's a process that definitely has the potential to be very frustrating, because of the complex relationships among the spoke tensions...)

A good step up for me would be a a couple of short sportive followed by a longer one and making the most of long summer days.

Complete an audax each month to get the Petit Year Round Award, doing mainly 100s to start with and then hopefully moving up to frequent 200s .. and beyoooond? Thus, doing a Strava GF each month Plus, Strava climbing challenge each month Doing more distance next year than this year (albeit no chance of reaching 2014/2015 distances), so about 7000-8000kms.
What I would also like to do is an 'international' ride. I did see cheap flights to Osaka at one stage. So something like that. Or Taiwan. Or Myanmar. Or Laos. Or Nepal. Or anything really.

Not sure what mine are this year. Last year I just vowed to ride more, and I've done that (broke last year's mileage with a month to spare). Although a bit vague, it seems as good a goal as any and it's served me well this year.
Much will depend on whether I get a lottery place for either of the two sportives I want to do (Fred Whitton and RideLondon), as that will lead to some training-related goals that I wouldn't otherwise bother with. Especially the Fred, as that would likely incorporate about 4-5kg of weight loss in order to cope with Hardknott and Wrynose.

I was checking on some stats site that analysed my rides for this year and it put me on 95% for solo rides and a classification as a lone wolf. I'm sure you will agree that is pretty poor going on the social front so for 2017 I'll be looking at improving things and setting the target for around 98/99%. Up yours youse lot..!!
