Hi all, Just purchased a red 51cm triban 3 from decathlon for the missus' first road bike. I must say I'm very impressed by the quality on this thing. An absolute steal at Β£150!!! Came with Microshift shifters as oppose to the spec sheets Claris ones (micro ones look better imo) And actually the 650c wheels aren't as small as I had pictured them in my head (versus one of my road bikes): Weighs 9.7kg as pictured, but I'm expecting to drop a little when the new tyres and tubes arrive. Only problem I've had is the triple mech is horrendous to setup! Also thinking I may swap out the triple...The crank arms are 170mm, but I'm tempted to just swap the chainset out for some 172.5mm 105 ones and double mech I have laying around, this will also knock off over .5kg instantly! Not sure if the missus would find them too much of a struggle though? A few little upgrades and additions have come today too. So yeah, hello all

Very nice. Bargain you got there. Originally they came with 2300 shifters, agree that the microshift is better. Also rather like the red hoods. Hope she enjoys it.
Welcome.

Thanks guys I've just started a new thread too with the upgrades/additions. This looks to be a great forum - loads of useful information on these bikes!

Hello and a warm welcome on board. What's not to like about the bike, it's a wee beauty!

Hi and welcome to the forum.
I feel your pain with setting up the triple. Always seems to be a bit of chain rub somewhere!

Nice bike mate. Does your front microshift shifter have 4 index points? How will that work with a 2 chain ring setup? I've only had my 500se a couple of days and the triple setup is doing my head in already.

I've only had my 500se a couple of days and the triple setup is doing my head in already. It's all controlled by the upper and lower limits on the derailleur, I have a triple on another bike which came as standard even though it came with a double. You just can't go passed the first notch if that makes sense.

Hey, how tall is you Lady? I am looking to buy trban for my wife but the only size there are left in stock is 48cm. She is 171cm tall and I am afraid that the bike might be to small for her unfortunately there are no Decathlon shops near us so we have no way of checking the bike b4 purchase.... .... Thanks , Buffalo

Just purchased one of these for my 11yr old son (first road bike) May I ask why the step down from 51cm to 45cm ? why not 48cm ? I presume the 51cm was too big?
