So after a long search I finally collected my new shiny orro terra gravel bike www.orrobikes.com/bikes/road/terra-gravel-roadFirst impressions? Great. I fitted guards, 28 durano plus tyres, a rack and in-line levers so it would be a solid commuter. It's got assured handling, discs stop quickly, the carbon fork soaks up the bumps of Londons roads and it has a very comfy Road position, not too stretched out. I'd looked at everything cx for a grand and this was by far the best finished, best specced bike at that price point including trek 740, cannondale caadx, croix de fer and giant revolt. It's the ultimate commuter, winter trainer and tourer all in one. I'm very happy

So, how has it been after a few rides? any idea about a weight? cheers I haven't weighed it yet, but it's noticeably heavier than my mach720. However it has a pannier, mudguards, bell, lights, in line levers etc all adding to the weight. The ride is great. Much more upright, and it's a longer bike so not twitchy and ideal for town. 105 performs excellently, I can't fault it! Haven't done a big distance on it yet though.

utriban weighed it yesterday. It's an XL and weighs 11kg. So if you took off the extras I put on, you could probably shed another kilo at least.

I guess, looking for the new bike, I'm becoming overly analytical. The only consolation is - everybody else does it too cheers, UT

I narrowed it down to usage eg commuting/touring, what I wouldn't compromise on eg 105, discs and went from there.

I ordered some SKS Bluemels, but they don't fit thanks steve

Bluemels and chromoplastics are very similar (just different profile) but both come in a variety of sizes....
