Over the moon with this I picked up last night. It was late when I got back yesterday so a couple of quick shots (that's the reason the reflectors and bell are still on!) Lower down on the range than 105 but has the new (complete) Tiagra 4700 group, which is basically the old 105 5700, by the time i've finished tweaking it will be sweet..! The main thing with this bike is the excellent frame. Maybe at a later date change the groupset (I have a fantasy of Sram e-tap!) Just about had enough time to take the supplied Shimano 500 wheels off and get the Mavics on before I put her to bed. SaveSave

Awesome looking bike pal. What sort of riding do you do and what was the main points you considered in picking this bike?
I'm curious as I'm looking to make a purchase soon as detailed in the Β£1500 thread I started last night.
Cheers.

Steg. It's built by the manufacturers direct, if you have been doing some research you may have found that a lot of makes are made my Merida.
The choice for this over the the SLR 02 which would have been the same price. The GF is a slightly more relaxed geometry, shorter reach and longer head tube. I'm not the most flexible rider so I don't fancy being bent over in a racier position.
My Triban 3 is a 54cm the BMC Is a 51cm but the bats are at the same height.
For you the choice is wide open at Β£1500. I've had my first ride on mine today, 50 miles with 4000 ft of climbing. A dream to ride!
The new Tiagra 4700 groupset is in my experience equal to the feel of Ultegra, only a bit of weight penalty. Frame is Di2 ready so plenty of scope for upgrades later on. The frame is what you are paying for on this.
If you go for this then you won't be disappointed.

I wasn't sure if I imagined that when Ian's name flashed on the screen. Clearly it wasn't an hallucination after all.
