Earlier in the week after a bit of a tough day at work, as I often do after such a day, went to seek solace on the roads of the Essex countryside. Without thinking too much about the time of day I set off, I found myself noticing the failing light, typical of the time of year. Lightless, I then had to go into 'beast mode' to get home before the daylight completely disappeared.
I got home safe and sound but a little bit out of breath but decided to not let myself get into that unsafe situation again.
I purchased the CATEYE Rapid Mini Rear Light after doing a little bit of research based upon a limited budget.
It arrived this morning in the office and upon opening the packaging I initially felt a little underwhelmed at its size thinking 'this isn't going to be up to much'. However, I switched it on and POW!! Nearly blinded by the power of its output. For something so small, it really packs a punch. Weighing 31 grams and with dimensions of roughly 50mmH x 25mmW it features 4 different modes - constant, flashing, only what I'd describe as 'crazy flashing' and pulsing. It has an output of 20 Lumens which is more than adequate for an evening time ride. It can last up to 30 hours depending on what mode it is on and features a low battery indicator and Battery Auto Save function. This means it will automatically revert to 'flashing' (its most efficient) mode to make sure you get the most amount of time out of each charge. Not only that but it is rechargeable via a USB lead supplied with the unit. Mount it to your Btwin using the O-Ring attachment and away you go.
I've got not worries about being seen on the roads by others any longer!
All that for Β£18 - what more could you want.
