Can't comment on 105 but Ultegra is a huge difference over Sora, shifting is much smoother and easier and braking is a lot better. 'Huge difference'? Honestly? I'm not so certain.

Yes, i'm happy to call it a huge difference. Fair enough, but I was a little underwhelmed when I went to Ultegra, certainly better, lighter and nicer to look at, but I'm not sure I would have said the mechanism was a huge difference? Certainly glad I have it now though.

Always had the Sora setup pretty good but as soon as i got Ultegra i honestly couldn't believe the difference between the two. Yes, it does look and feel better quality but i'm talking about how smooth the shifts are and the stopping power on the brakes. I put Tiagra brakes on the Triban and i think these are noticeably different over the Sora.

............I did however go from tiagra to ultegra, so possibly that made some difference?

Silver while you can, none of the new groupsets are 'polished' (just thought, oh jets, Dura Ace)
