Yes - Got a Charge Plug 2 (one with drop bars) and love it! It's my main commuting bike and great fun. Gearing is fast enough to spin out at about 24-25mph but can cruise at 18-21mph and still tackle some decent hills as long as not too long. Really helped my out of saddle climbing on my Triban as well.
Great fun with minimal maintance

I saw a lovely chrome SS in london for the freeride on saturday. Made even lovelier by the girl riding it in cutoff denim shorts.
I would have otherwise thought that chrome was a bit much, but really it was sweet.

I may have been a little facetious in my previous post but I don't think there would be much of a chance of me getting up the hill home on a ss.

I bought a SS today. Its chrome, looks lovely.
On practical level, seat needs moving back a bit, also perusing ebay for bullhorns. I now live in a lumpy area so considering getting a biggler cog at the back (20t?)
Great fun overall.

I ordered one at the beginning of the week, still waiting for delivery. Expecting the first commute to be interesting

Found out today I am already on a 21t, obviously a replacement for the fixie cog, so I have 18 on one side and 21 on the other. Been going on the 21 already without knowing but anyway not had anything worth stopping and walking for (so far).

Well, I don't live in the UK now, so you probably won't get what I got, which is a Reid Harrier. I live in Sydney now. Following picture is not mine, but looks pretty close to mine. I will endeavor to take some pics of mine on the weekend.

I have an old Falcon road bike I've toyed with converting to SS (well I can't sell it...it's not worth anything dear and it's not eating any grass in the garage) or another old unmarked road frame with very tight geometry (a 25 tyre rubs on the seatpost) that might be another candidate. I've also just started SS converting an old 90s mtb into a kind of bmx-ey Frankenbike as my son is getting a bmx for his 7th bday and I'd like to hit the tracks with him but all the bmx's look so weeny (that said I had my eye on a Mongoose on gumtree last week...always wanted a Mongoose back in the day). Aaaanyway...can anyone recommend a cheap but solid enough flip-flop rear wheel? Apologies for the hijacking!

Most flip flop rear wheels will be 120mm dropout width, but you can just screw a fixed or single freewheel onto the standard freewheel hub. There are lots of cheap but heavy deep section fixie wheels on ebay, but if you're going 120mm (you can carefully tweak a steel frame) I'd try one of these www.merlincycles.com/mach-sealed-bearing-track-wheels-56098.html

Oh dear.... I've just bought a Feral single speed/fixie on gumtree last night. I know they are pretty crappy but at 45 notes and 2 miles away I took it as a sign. Looks brand new!
