....'Cycle @ctive' this month.
Matt Lamy (I think it is) does a 'Sportive' and writes an entertaining account of it riding the CA 'review' T3 from last years mags. He appears to be riding the one they pimped up subsequently with RS10's, Spa leather and groovy brakes etc.
It's not about the bike, however,,,,,,,,(where have I heard that before?).
More about his epic fail and punctures!
Nice to see some picture of our old favourite T3 out and and about in the mainstream cycly press though.

Yup.........I think that if his bike had epically failed he would have said so. I seem to recall he was the journo who had entusiastically reviewed the bike last summer and said there and then he wanted to keep it? That article and the following 6 pager on T3 pimpology (my God - they really went for it) did a lot to secure the tΒ£'s place in cycle history by my reckoning. w

I actually have that issue, looking at it at this moment. I did a lot for selling the T3.

Out of curiosity what were the upgrades they suggested? It was a very detailed upgrade of the T3. arny5triban is right, all 6 pages should be canonised and placed in the Holy Writ. Actually the M6/J9 store had a centre page up for a few months. I will try my best to post it but copywrite law will rebid it. I will list the upgrades over the weekend if nobody else does. It was a very good article its a pity the writer couldn't have done the T3 justice at the sportive.

www.cyclingweekly.co.uk/tech/bikes/129441/2/bike-test-do-you-get-what-you-pay-for.htmlThis was Matt Lamy's original review. It persuaded me to buy the T3. Without reading this I would not have considered buying a such a cheap bike, assuming that the quality was not there. Decathlon owe this guy a big favour. I was not aware that he had carried out upgrades and, if anyone has a link it would be interesting to find out what they were. Most of us have tarted up our bikes. I am starting to run out of ideas or getting to the point where any further spending on a Β£300 bike cannot really be justified.
