Was looking at the old red t3 and was wondering if the t3,t3a,t5,t300 and t500 are all the same frame? Is there any bike geometry differences between the bikes? my understand is that my T500 is made in Romania but the older red t3 were made elsewhere. has the frame been tweaked over the years or did they just stick to what they knew worked?
I understand the the new gen of bikes are different(520,540 etc)
just curious(and skive off work)

AFAIK all the same, the 'Triban' range was preceded by the 'Sport' range 1,2,3 with different frames. (some frames had carbon seat stays, old T5, T7 and some Sport models)

chas is the expert as ever, but I always thought that the T in each bike model name was the indication of the common frame.

There was a bit of 'an urban myth' that the earlier red T3 frames were made in Italy, possibly by Dedacciai!

I asked B'TWIN themselves about this and if I recall correctly the frames are (/ have been) made in various localities; the UPPER CASE T3's are pretty stylish, but they were only ever on sale at the Nempnett Thrubwell store I think ?

Sorry to hear some of the Tribans were made in Italy...must be a worry riding about on frames made by a bunch of work shy Italians ...now the Romanians, industrious and hardworking people...known for their attention to detail

As far as I know they're all made from the same material 6061 aluminium (no matter where made)

I wonder what the "made in" really means. It could be just the final assembly of the bike and the frames could come from Timbuktu.

Lets be honest, even most of the 'Italian exotica' comes from Taiwan and China these days!
