Has anyoe got a nifty way of getting books read to you when you're cycling from an android phone without charges?
I dont tend to listen to music these days but I like Mark Kermodes film review podcast piping into my ears when moving so i think I'd also like to listen to a book when out and about.
Kindle seems to want to charge you for the privelidge. Is there a work around? Sureley theres a text to speach reader that can access an ebook or am i having crazy thoughts?

Not crazy, what you are actually talking about are audiobooks.
It does rely on there being an audiobook version of your selected tome being available though but most are.
Got loads of em for my normal genre of murder / mystery type books that I listen to in the car sometimes.
They are saved as MP3 files so no extra app needed for your phone. W?hat authors / books are you interested in

There's a thread going on about different cyclists autobiograpgies.
I was looking to get some of these.
I'm not a reader so I don't have a best author. I'll pick up a book every now and then if it's in vouge.
I'm sure I'm missing out on a lot but I don't see where people get the time to read.

There are plenty of websites that allow you to download audio books but they aren't exactly legal. Google has a text to speech app in Android, but I have never used it.

Audible is too expensive month on month, 8 quid for the little i would use it. I dont want to take the mic by pinching a book although i might give it a go to test it out?

Is it just me, but listening to an audiobook while cycling doesn't sound like one of the best things to do. If you are listening/paying attention to the audiobook are your concentrating on the road/traffic?

Oh not this old chestnut. If you aren't comfortable with it then don't do it. If you feel you can still be safe then crack on.
