Good Morning All My Aldi has stop selling my favourite flapjack bars. Well sometime ago really. They change the brand first, then stop selling altogether.
So I want to bake my own. Lots if recipes online but it's a pain to find the proper oats needed to bake. The Whey is no problem. That can be had from myprotein.com or H&B in town, but where to get the oats?

Just use regular porridge oats from any Supermarket Thanks for that mate. It does leave wondering how to get plain natural oats for baking.

same - my kids love making flapjacks - cheap big bag of oats from aldi. my mum buys posh oats, which are less flaky and larger, but i find the cheap smaller flakes stick together better.
basic recipe -
1 quantity oats, 1/2 quantity butter, 1/2 brown sugar. use 2 tbs (ish) syrup per every 1/2 pound of oats. - melt, mix and bake. dont worry bout measuring - if it just sticks together it will work. i make em with my 2 yr old and he dont measure stuff!
then i let the kids add what they want - i like crunchy peanut butter (add a bit more oats), they like chocolate (let mix cool before adding choc lumps). i also like cinnamon, ground ginger, or a real treat is bits of crystalised ginger. dried fruit is popular (i find soaking in some boiling water plumps em up and stops em going burnt and dry).
yummy yummy.

Aldi? Wasn't aware Aldi sell oats or you just talking about cereal oats?

Ordinary oats, I like to mash a banana in when mixing. I think I saw the flapjacks they used to do in Aldi in Poundland the other week (I shop in all the classiest places )

Went to Poundland and didnt find any flapjacks. Went to H&B and the whey is so expensive Β£25 and Β£35 per bottle/pack. Had no idea that stuff cost so much.

If you look on YouTube or the GCN website, there is a recipe for their "Uber bars", excellent energy and dead easy to make Made both of these a good few times and both are equally as good and easy to make.
