After a ride the Othery night in the wet, I've decided to give in to mud guards. I jag mud splatted all up my back even with an ass saver. So I'm putting the cruds back on that came with the bike. Not gonna look pretty, but at leaf I don't get covered in spray. Pics to follow.

It wasn't so much me that was getting messed up but it took so long to get the bike clean that had me fitting mine. I've an ass saver coming from Santa but I wont be expecting miracles...

Got a slight problem, the front mud guard won't go between the three and the caliper.

They will go on, mine went back on with a bit of persuading. The fronts had to be twisted slightly down the side of the tyre to slot through. You can always drop the wheel if you're struggling.

I got mine in without the wheel. and had to remove the "nose" of the front one or it always rubbed, but once they are on, I only have rub when refitting wheel (and a quick pull soon sorts that) or when "crap" gets between guard and tyre.

I took the wheel out, fitted the guards then put the wheel back in. The gap between the tyre and the brake caliper is too small. Running the axis 2.0 wheels and 23c conti gp4000s.

pull the cable tie harder! I can't imagine gp4000s are much bigger than my lithion2s and the wheels shouldn't be a problem.

The front one on mine was a mare(cruds). I'm running 25's now. I've just lopped the front bit off so it ends at the caliper now. No biggy really. Bike and body stay cleaner.

Doing the cable tie up hardy makes no difference at all. There physicaly isn't enough room between the tyre and caliper. I'll go back to the garage and see if I can take some pictures, I did think about loppin done of it off......

I have no problem with mine even with the nose, you could try using a heat gun to manipulate it, it doesn't take much, i had to do this on my other bike, sometimes doing up the tie wrap to tight can have the effect of pulling the front of the nose down, also have a go with the adjusting the arms as this can have an effect as well, its just down to fine tuning.

So I've got them both on. Had to cut the front part off the front guard to get it to fit. just got back from a ride and only 300 yards in a stone got Between the extension and the wheel on the front and ripped it clean off. Think I'll just leave it as it is. My shins get wet but I can't see it making much difference no matter what I do.

Dashing around like a blue arsed fly season is now officially over. After a very mucky day and getting absolutely filthy, I've fitted the Raceblade longs along with my winter wheels consisting of Mavic Open Pro rims, 105 hubs and 36 spokes of sheer strength. I've got a Durano 700 x 23 on the rear and a Conti 4 seasons on the front. Once they wear out I'll be looking at putting 25's on. Looking forward to chilling and pottering about. A few cafe stops here and there etc etc. I'm all geared up for a few short tours now I suppose seeing as I've got the touring wheels on. Tally ho. Chocks away..!!
