Hmm so I notice my mechanical pressure gauge from my mtb doesnt look like it fits presta valves, so i look at halfords and find their gauge is £15 and i realise i could get a track pump with gauge for that (or only say £5 more)
So do people have one of these little gauges to be portable? Or do you just use the track pump gauge and if you get a flat while out, just use the mini-pump to guess approx on the psi to get you home?
Interested in what people do. Thanks

A good track pump is essential for keeping your tyres at the right pressure, I pump up the tyres virtually everytime I head out. Fortunately haven't had use for my mini pump yet!

I have a track pump with gauge in the garage, usually just feel the pressure by hand before each ride and pump them up if I think they feel low. Mini-pump on the bike and have just guessed approx. psi to get me home on the few occasions I've had to use it.

A seperate gauge isn't much use as you lose air putting it on and off, a decent track pump with gauge is one of the most important things to get IMO. With a mini pump it's as much as you can manage.

Thanks folks, track pump it is then.
So, do i go £13 for the tesco own brand which surprisingly gets reasonable reviews though some people think its price equals lower quality... or do i spend a bit more?
Ideally id like to keep it at £20 or less
Opinions welcome

I went for a tescos track pump basically to keep costs down when ive spent so much on cycling in the past 5 weeks. May not last ad long but so far its done 4 tyres at work no problem. Thanks again for advice.

Don't know about the pump you have bought but I have learnt the hard way a few times 'buy cheap, buy twice'.
