I was looking at getting a Garmin Edge 200. Was wondering if anyone has one and knows if they are any good. Also does anyone know if there are any others on the market that do the same / more for the same money or less.

Yes, great for general Strava and the breadcrumb trails, you need a higher spec one if you want to get techy on training stat's or want car style mapping capabilities. At £30 they were a steal - or a pricing error perhaps?

I love mine, does everything I want. Just plug it in the PC and it automatically uploads rides to Garmin connect which then sends it to Strava, job done. So good my wife bought one!

Mine does the job perfect. The customisation of the 500 the.pted me but I got my 200 for cheap and haven't loomed back. It is basic but if you have basic needs then it's perfect.

I was in 2 minds about getting the 200 unit or the more expensive and higher spec 500 unit, which has ANT capability so can gather cadence, heart rate and power (let's no go there ). I went for the 200 unit and am happy with my choice. Not sure if you are into running as well but the 200 unit is small enough to wrist mount or stick in a pocket to record run data.

Gutted! £30. Your right I missed it. Just checked Tesco and they are now £95. I am a basic kind of guy so by the look of the other answers it will suit me down to the ground. Cheers guys.

I love my 200 and now treat it as essential kit. Great for basic stats and find breadcrumb trail fine for designing and following preplanned routes. If want HR and cadence then 500 but if not then 200 is superb

Got Mine used like new for £70.00 from Amazon, i think it is new just the box was slightly damaged anyway as others have already said it is very light amazing battery life compared to iphone, and no wires so looks Pro especially if you have an upfront mount............................

Agree with everything said above - after two rides with my new one from @jetsetwilly I cannot fault it. Great to see live data right in front of you. Even motivated me to push even faster on my decent yesterday to see how fast I could go.

They are the kind of reviews that I was looking for. Looks likme I know what the wife can get me for Christmas. Been looking for an alternative to using my phone. It's OK for Strava and Endomomdo but the battery tends to drain pretty quick and I am never too sure if the data it gives is accurate.

Is there any way of changing how zoomed in it is when following a course?
Mine seems to like 80m which is too zoomed in to anticipate junctions etc. I went the opposite way on a route yesterday by accident and it zoomed out to 200m which was much more usable.

If you push the buttons on the right when on the breadcrumb page should move in and out . It can take some time depending on the size of the map
