Seems like the B'Twin Ultra is starting to hit the shelves! www.decathlon.co.uk/ultra-920-carbon-road-bike-id_8290152.htmlThis must be the finest road bike B'Twin has ever produced. If the Alur 700 isn't good enough, you don't like the look of the Mach series and money is no reason not to buy a bike, the Ultra could be a the choice. Your opinions on this bike?

I just don't understand why so many manufacturers including Btwin are currently producing such dull looking bikes. I am not obsessed with red but if I was going to shell out two grand or any sum south of that figure I would like a bit on bling for my money. The 900/920 is probably very good value but it just doesn't excite me at all. Still, chacun a son gout as they say over the water.

2.500 euro is big money, there are many competitors around I see an attention point: no frame geometry specs for every size I don't understand if carbon is k12,k3 or k1

Agreed with the above, there are a number of £2k Ultegra / Ksyrium Elite carbon bikes out there, and this doesn't look as nice as many of those.

I was in Deca in Sheffield on Saturday and saw one of these in the flesh. Not particularly impressed to be honest - looks dull and the square tubes and stays just don't do it for me.

Also agree with Marco, lots of competition at or around the £2k price bracket. The Boardman Road Pro Carbon SLR, is a similar-ish spec (Ultrga wheels in place of Mavic) for £1,800 (£1,620 for anyone with British Cycling membership)

Nice bike, but I got pretty much the same spec for £999.00!
Granted the frame on the B'twin is better, but £1,000.00 better?

More manufactures are moving away from the black look (probably 'so last year'), but I do agree with you. I thought that it was so Decca could save on paint Who knows, black paint may weigh less as well, and if there is no paint on the carbon, the bike must be as light as a feather. Seriously though, I am happy for my commute bike to be black, because they don't look like they are worth stealing to the average thief. The T3 Red, looks like it is worth a lot more due to the paintwork, people are shocked when I tell them how much it costs. I think that for an out and out road bike, they should look like supercars and the matt black doesn't do it for me.

The bad copies look dull (IMHO canyon bikes are one of the worst example) ever seen F8?

The colour detailing and overall finish is subtle and it certainly looks expensive (which it certainly is). The Btwin Ultra looks a "clunker" by comparison. Its personal preference in the end. If I was spending that sort of money I would like a choice of colours. It seems that so many manufacturers have followed the current trend towards "stealth" colour schemes. No doubt the pendulum will swing back and we will be offered lairy dayglo colours in a year or two.

Only seen photos of the bike and it looks pretty good, i'd probably think differently when i actually see the bike in the flesh. I went to Planet X to look at the RT-58 in black and really didn't like it, the photos made it look much better than it was.
