Can anyone give any comparisons between Btwin 300, 500 & 700 bib tights ?
I was initially going to get some 300's for £19.99 but started to think you probably get what you pay for. So I thought I'd go up to the £39.99 500s. However, I wonder whether I should spend the extra to go for the 700 at £49.99?
I have some 500 and 900 bib shorts - The 900s are more snug and have a better pad. I was told that the 700 and 900 shorts have the same (blue) pad, while the 500 (red) is designed for shorter rides.
But, given that I have 900 bib shorts, should I just use them through the winter with the £7.99 leg warmers I've just bought from Aldi?

You could also buy an unpadded pair of bibs. Usually cheap and mean you can continue to use your current shorts that you are comfortable with.
I plan to use leg warmers but if it get too bitter I'll settle for unpadded bibs over my current shorts that I know work well for me.

I have the 700 bib tights. The material around the body is a little bit thicker and stiffer than the legs (windproof?) and I find that means the pad can move about a bit.

I still haven't bought any of these damn things! I've instead been using a pair of Aldi leg warmers with my bib shorts. They have been pretty good, but a bit of a faff putting on and taking off.
Not sure whether to persist with them or go for the bib tights.
What do you guys do?

I bought a pair of planet x clubman bib tights to replace my old holey ones, worn them a few times and they are toasty warm and very comfy, great buy but cant find them on the web site now these are unpadded because I prefer to wear my funkier padded shorts under the bibs.

I have never had leg warmers because I wear my bib shorts from may until middle of September and then my bib tights from October to april

If you are going to wear tights then you need to show calibrated proof that the temperature was below 10°C otherwise you may be liable to accusations of softieness

My Aldi leg warmers did for me over last winter. I occasionally wore them under my MuddyFox tights, but they aren't winter tights really, no fleecy/warm lining or anything. I only did that on the coldest/wettest days. They are a bit of a faff but I like that I can take them off mid-ride if I feel like I need to. That might not be an issue in the middle of winter but it's nice at this time of year.
If you have good shorts and the leg warmers are keeping you warm enough then not a whole lot of point buying bib tights. They are essentially exactly the same thing but in 2 parts instead of 1 whole.
