DelB lovely looking bike enjoy it mate. Cheers Carl. How you getting on with the Vitus? DelB a very long story with the Vitus ended up bringing it back to them in April bottom bracket was away with it asked to check a few other things and after 5 weeks still no bike. An inlaw contacted his mate who is a buyer for Vitus/CRC and really wasn't happy with how I was being treated ie bad for bike and stores rep. Eventually got a call to go to the store and came away with an upgraded version 11 speed Ultegra which I love. baz will hopefully agree that I was never really happy with the first bike always something just not right with it. Haven't put my ar5e on a bike for 6 weeks and don't know when I will be able to for a long while. Sorry for the Rad type reply but you did ask lol. Must try and post a pic of it haven't seen it since my accident mskes staying away from it easier :-(

DelB, with the 11 speed 105 groupset what cassette did you go for and how many of the gears are usable without any chain rub on the front derailleur? Is that also a long cage rear mech?

I went for the 11-32 cassette. The nine speed Sora I had on the Triban was a 12-27, so I figured that the two extra cogs might as well be 'bail out' options. Yes, long cage rear mech. It doesn't appreciate extreme cross-chaining, but copes pretty well on all but small-small and big-big combinations.

Out on the bike again this morning. What a machine it is! The switch from a triple to a compact double is going to take some getting used to, but already I'm spending far more time on the big ring than I ever did when I had the triple. I've tweaked the bars a touch and I noticed that the right shifter was a fraction higher than the left (my OCD kicking in!), so I've remedied that too. Gonna get the steerer tube cut down as I felt a wee bit too high on it on Sunday. I moved some of the spacers above the stem before today's ride and it feels much better.

Nice bike, i've got one too! i was after an Alur 700, but i couldnt get hold of one so i went for a Cube Peleton race and i'm really pleased with it. Shame i had to sell my trusty red T3, but it went to a good home.

DelB how are things with the new bike now that you have ridden it a few times. Hi Carl. Apologies for the delay in responding. Just sitting on the Eurostar to London after five days in Disneyland Paris with the wife and kids. Haven't been on the bike for nearly a fortnight due to work then holiday, but absolutely loving it. Have set a good few Strava PR's in the circa 500 miles I've managed on it since I bought it. It's a much more comfortable frame, despite having been running 23mm tyres on the Mavic wheels, whereas on the Triban I'd switched to 25mm tyres to try and save my arse getting a beating! 11 speed 105 is awesome - the dual pivot brakes especially and I find myself on the big ring far more now than I ever was on the T5a. No regrets buying it and no regrets punting the Triban.
