I have not had these tyres for long but they seem paper thin, had my first flat with a tiny shard of glass about 3 weeks ago that had went straight through the tyre and into the inner tube. Now today I've just had a little check round the rear tyre and there is a little hole off something and there was a tiny piece of stone lodged in that I have pulled out and that has left a hole.
Also can anyone recommend some stronger tyres for the future?

I can recommend continental gator skins. I replaced my Huchinsons after the second ride for the same problem you had, no problems since.

I switched to Hutchinson Atoms as they were on special offer from Decathlon and have ridden them over all sorts of terrain that is unfriendly to road bikes with no problems.

I've just put my Hutchinson Equinox 2 tyres back on, the Lugano I had were starting to show a bit of wear.
They are no pribs for me so far, 90% of punctures will happen no matter what tyres you have (controversial)

I've had no problems with the equinox 2 tyres, in fact I've been surprised how well they are performing considering some of the surfaces I have ridden

Suppose It's just the luck of the draw whether or not you get one, but they don't offer very good grip in the wet as I learned when the back tyre on two occasions slipped. The Gatorskins look quite good.

Ian - i had completely the opposite experience. Next to useless in London, with almost immediate punctures. Conti gp4000s are far superior in my experience in both grip and protection. I wouldn't ever use the Equinox again!
