When I briefly spoke to a guy at Evans about it, he said you don't even need to buy a bike with it. Could just spend up to Β£1000 on, say, a GoPro/accessories/etc. not sure how this can be true based on what others say on here. I'm with Al. I would rather just get a 0% credit card and pay off over 12/15 months. There is no way I could convince our FD at work anyway, even if the Big Boss is a huge cycling fan. You can certainly top up on accessories but I think you have to have a bike as part of the purchase. Don't think wearing reflective gear and a go-pro on the tube constitutes 'cycle to work'. But then, who's going to check.

You are allowed to take out the scheme just for accessories, but they should be for commuting, ie they don't allow computers, tri bars etc. However, it all depends on the retailer as a friend got a pair of Mavic Cosmic Carbones a couple of years ago. The previous time he got a bike though, he saw one discounted and was told he couldn't have the discount on the cyclescheme (they take a percentage off the retailer) this isn't the case at Decathlon.
