BREXIT. EVERYTHING not made entirely in the UK will soon be at least 5-10% more because of the plummet of the £.

All UK sellers of 4iiii PMs (four "i"s in 4iiii btw) have gone up by the same amount. Glad I picked mine up last summer, with an additional 5% off via an ebay deal. I'm still very very happy with it for anyone tempted to take the (slightly more expensive) plunge.

How long before a power meter is available at Aldi? I can't see prices dropping before more bikes come with integrated power meters.

There might be a new Garmin model announced at the Sea Otter Cycling Festival this month. A replacement for the Garmin Edge 1000 is well overdue. (Garmin 1010..??)
We could well see a further drop in price for existing models.

I've returned two Ultegra 4iiii's now. Constant cadence spikes every ride, says I do a max 200+ cadence at points in my rides. A little annoyance, but 4iiii have said that they are unlikely to fix it within the next year, and I'm using a Garmin 520 on latest firmware, so hardly an old out of date unit.
Power numbers I have nothing to compare them with...however lots of reports say they aren't awfully accurate compared to Quarq, Powertap etc.
Saving me £469 for a Triban 520 winter bike now...once they have the new Sora ones in stock.
I honestly didn't use the power meter to it's full ability for training, if you'll do some serious power based training, I would probably avoid 4iiii personally from now on.

Interesting, i'm almost ready to pull the trigger on a 4iiii. I thought DC Rainmaker gave it a good review? Think i need to do a bit more reading up on it before i go for it.
EDIT: Just reading the comments after his review and read your posts on their about the issues you're having.

Yeah, it's not exactly a massive issue, but something you would expect to be right, especially as cadence is such a easy thing to report correctly. Seems there is just no smoothing there.
On the other hand, if they can't get cadence right, how accurate is the power going to be? This is generally an issue with the left hand units though.
Unfortunately nothing else on the market is as affordable, Stages are £100 more, but same left hand issues - then Quarq etc are then £600+ and then add the chainring cost...
I would probably if I was going to go with a PM and wasn't using Speedplay pedals, go for the Powertap pedals. They have single side or double (expensive) but they are apparently bringing out a right pedal only, to go with the single left side if you already have it - so could buy half now half later.
No more power for me now though, It's gone off to PBK via Royal Mail today.

Seems odd you having the negatives, but not many others with similar reports (which is I guess why they aren't fixing it... not worth the time for very small proportion of customers), But any idea why you get the faults? Do you have a very uneven stroke for instance? Clearly not faulty product (which can and does happen with anything) as you've had multiple replacements.

I don't really know to be honest, it's obviously a problem between my Garmin 520 and the 4iiii, there was another person on the thread reporting the same sort of issues. Their solution was to try other head units, but it's not really a viable solution as I have the 520. Some people have said to switch off bluetooth on the Garmin - however I use this for live track so the Mrs knows I'm alive - and when I am going to be home to put the kettle on. As I said above, it's a small issue, but when freewheeling downhill and then suddenly the unit reporting 216 cadence, it's as if it's doubling the last cadence figure. I'm sure there are plenty of happy punters out there, it's the cheapest semi-reliable system available to the masses - unless you go for a wind resistance system, but god knows how accurate that would be.

I see, a 520 clash... that's really odd. And given how they work, makes me suspicious the issue is actually the 520, not the 4iiii, but if they aren't compatible, I can't blame you getting rid of the one you can. I wish I could justify a PM.

I justified one by saying it would help my training for Ride London....I've done about 7 power based training sessions with it, in 2 months...!!

Problem is, the cost of one (given it would really need to transfer between at least 2, if not 3 bikes) will feed/daily expense me for 6 months! And I want to go to the amateur worlds - which won't be cheap for me (academic pay is academic).

Anyone got any further info on power meters?
I don't really 'need' one but I'd be interested to have one to see if I could make use of it.
Had a quick look at prices and was put off by the fact that the cheapest seemed to be around £300+ still.
am I missing something?
