Is there a way to plot a route that advises when to turn?
Last time I tried this on bikehike, I saved a route with directions on course points, I then transferred the gpx file to my Garmin but on the route the device didn't tell me when to turn, I had to follow the black line.
Is there a way to do this?

Yes this is it. I've done it as tcx file from bikehike and use coursepoints to mark turnings (or start/end of hills/segments etc). Works fine, it beeps just before. Only thing I found was files were lot bigger than normal if I added quite a few coursepoints so not so good if like to store several courses on garmin

Will give bike hike a go with the coursepoints. On my ride out last week, where I plotted the route on Garmin Connect, I overshot a couple of turns and had to double back a few times.

It worked, importing the tcx file brings course points onto the Garmin.
Annoyingly, I set the display to Scroll Medium so every time I needed the directions it would then skip to the next screen (Cheating AI competitor who didn't stop for a break when I did, even though I had auto pause on, what a git!!).
I have set it to no scroll for my next spin on Sunday. Is there a way to choose what data the edge 200 will scroll through?
