Honestly, if it was liable to be this hot/humid for more than a few days a year, I would.
I'm hot enough to pull it off!

Team Sky refer to their version as a 'Climbers Jersey' - these are for the hot weather, but sun scream is a must!. Not sure i'd wear it for my lunch time ride, work colleagues already look at me funny when i get in to my lycra at lunch time!

And this picture would demonstrate why iders are clambering to use 'mesh' gear:

I'm pretty certain it's not just a claim, as I've got the Aero 900 from a trip to Lille (visiting the B'TWIN Village), I've seen the Aerofit 9 FDJ.fr kit on the shelves and seen the riders wearing it with my own eyes, this kit is the one (as opposed to the replica kit which they also sell) ... www.decathlon.fr/fdj-cuissard-aerofit-9-bleu-id_8291026.htmlVisiting the team in Belgium, think you can make out the cut of the bibshorts: Equally ... I've seen kit on display that isn't on sale to the public (yet?) ... example, these nice shoes in this pic' taken inside the village: The wider display of the FDJ.fr kit in the village: I'm guessing the summer kit they're wearing now is special team issue - average mortals don't ride 44 kmh for 4 hrs in 30 degrees so there's probably a perception that there's not a demand for it amongst the masses?

:oI've seen riders carrying bidons down the back of their jerseys but never down the front of the shorts. Ooh err missus.

The wider display of the FDJ.fr kit in the village: I love that they have got Demare in his French national champion kit in the picture in the background! I presume B'Twin make that too - in the same way that rapha have made Peter Kennaugh a team sky branded British national champion jersey (see also Greipel at Lotto-Belisol and Nibali at Astana both in national champion jerseys made by their team's usual kit supplier).

That's Arthur Vichot (for 2013), Arnaud Demare has it this year.

The kit I've got on in the avatar pic is the 900 Aerofit, it's printed inside as being made by Oxylane, which are of course suppliers of kit across multi sports - the odd one off jersey for a national champion isn't likely going to tax them much in terms of production; www.oxylane.com/en/#

Old news to me, I was buying kit from Decathlon stores for camping and skiing long before I was into road cycling; Oxylane is the umbrella grouping.

I've just taken delivery of the 900 Aerofit kit. Hope to use it tomorrow if the weather is okay.

My Granddad would be turning in his grave if he knew what the world has come to. Grown men in fishnet clothing...
