So I see quite a lot of here people posting 2 different rides saying "garmin crashed" or "phone battery died - changed battery", etc. Are people generally aware that you can merge the two rides together? You can just export your two gpx files and then and can cut and paste manually if you know what you are doing, or google 'join 2 gpx files ' to find a utility to do it, eg joewein.net/bike/gpxmerge/

I wasn't aware, although was about to look into it. Tried with my 2 files from today and it didn't like it. Bookmarked anyway, although I don't usually end up with 2 files even when the Garmin does crash.

IMHO easyest way is to use Endomondo site that has that particular feature, upload the two trax, then download the unified .gpx track.
