Went in to the reading mecca yesterday and still no sign of any of the new range apart from the t3 and the t500's. Anybody any idea when they're being released is it going to done on the back of the tdf. Seems a long wait between announcing a new range and it being in the shop.

These should have been in Marchβ¦
I'm currently looking to buy my daughter a 24" bike, but it's one of those where the whole stock seems to be on the last few, with the odd time one online says 'available'.
might end up having to search other stores for alternatives to the one she wants (after a long decision on the right style / colour etc)

Like many, I'm sure, I'd really like to see the brand go from strength to strength. Seems a helluva shame not to have been able to get things together at a time of increased exposure and expectation - so easy for the negative to stick in people's minds more than the positive. I'd imagine that somewhere there's a fair bit of hair being pulled out.

We obviously don't know what they are doing at the French stores, they may be shifting a hell of a lot (pre Tour) and not have enough stock to be able fill the uk stores with enough capacity for regular sales.

I think all the bikes in the new range have been available at some point or another except for the Alur 700. It seems even Decathlon have no idea when it will see the light of day. Last I read on the FB page suggested some time in June. I notice they are saying that the winner of the Cycling Weekly comp has been notified that they have one an Alur and that they will post pictures. Maybe it will be timed with a big release for the TdF. Then let the in stock/out of stock agony commence!

Fair point, might well be something to do with taking care of the domestic market; if it is, not sure it's particularly evident from the website!: www.decathlon.fr/F-10018-velos-route

Everything seemed fine until Radchenister started asking awkward questions of their Lille production manager...

No sign of the Alur in France either.

Nothing to do with me - think it takes time to produce good things of quality on a budget, the logistics are likely far more complicated than we might imagine; they also do all sorts of other products and most likely only have so many bod's to do the work, I imagine the road bikes are just one part of a huge jigsaw.

Having only recently bought a Triban 500 and since started binging on all things cycling, I've just come to realise what a fantastic spec the Alur 700 has for the price. Other then the snob appeal of the more high profile brands it should fly off the shelves.

Maybe Decca are waiting for the new 105 - 5800 group sets to go live later this month so they can get straight in with 11spd. Looks like they are compatible with the direct fit brakes too. Mmmmm, now that would make it tough to walk past in the shop, assuming they manage to get enough stock in the shops to display. I reckon they really would fly out of the warehouse. I think I would cycle to work every day then in order to wear out the T3 components as quickly as possible, so I could say the new group set came with a frame and wheels thrown in!

Popped into my local Decca today and just had to ask about the Alur 700. A look like "Here we go again", though in a very patient way, suggested this question has come up a few times. Turns out Decca has stopped giving dates to staff in stores. The best that could be said is that they are hopeful it will be soon.

I asked in the Oxford shop about the Alur 700s and the guy there said they were coming in in late July. The bike features in the latest printed catalogue. That would seem an encouraging sign...
