Anyone know if they actually got any of the 57's in? I'm 5"10 any idea if a 54 would fit me?

You're borderline between a 57 or 54. I'm 5'10" - using a 54, it will give a slightly more compact and committed ride if you go for the smaller size but IMO it's the way you should fit on a road bike ... horses for course though, others will opt for a slightly bigger option sometimes, as it will offer less seat to bar drop and you may find it more comfortable but if you're reasonably fit and flexible the smaller one will equate to a more racer looking body posture as opposed to touring style of the larger; check out the bike fit section (link to follow).

I was planning to pop into the Sheffield store as I may be up that way next Wednesday. Don't want to miss out on the 500SE's though. Does anyone know how the reserve online works? How many days does it hold for and what if I can't make it in the end? Is it easy to get a refund?

Phone them. I've spoken to Decca in Wednesbury & Oxford about buying a variety of things in store. Both stores have been very helpful.

Could be worse. Could be riding Carrera Tdf's! ! There is nothing wrong with the Carrera TDF and the original red Triban 3 is not exactly light years ahead of it in terms of ride quality or build, bikeradar gave the TDF excellent reviews and there is a reason they are so popular. Amazing bikes for the money. This 500SE seems like an interesting deal though, I might try and swing by the Warrington store to check them out as a potential N+1.

No need to apologise dude, just seems like an odd attitude to encounter on a Triban 3 owners forum. Don't actually own the TDF but my friend has been daily commuting on his for a long time without any issues and I am always pleasantly surprised by the quality of the build and the actual ride when I have a go on it, easily comparable to my own Giant and Boardman bikes costing three times as much.

Ahem, you're on a Triban forum - we spit on Carrera's just for the hell of it, the same way as UKip supporters whinge about Europe through prejudice and no real care for the facts, except our cause is just a bit of fun and less worrying !

They had a T500 SE with a banner next to it at the Coventry store earlier so I assume they are in stock there. I didn't actually look around the bike department though so don't know what they had in the way of sizes etc. The website says 54 and 60 but I know what the website is like when it comes to stock levels.

On this forum we basically like Tribans & Decathlon, but what are they playing at? Just been to Thurrock, and they have 500SE's which if I forget my colour prejudice, is the spiritual successor to the Red 3. If I was starting this year, I would be "fatmanona500se", BUT WOULD MY SIZE BE AVAILABLE? Tribans are still great entry level bikes, but have Deca got stock to sell??

With success comes pressure to produce more I suppose, get the impression that suppliers are letting them down a bit at the mo' - think they'll have it dialled by full on TdF time. Another review, looks like the Sora cranks are an interim to another option (Claris): road.cc/content/review/116333-btwin-triban-500-se-road-bike

I tried the 500 se in 54" and thought it was ok (never been on a road bike before) then tried the 3a in 57 and it felt a lot better. Looks like I will need to wait a bit (hopefully not too long).
