You're not bad on the power to weight ratio everywhere on roads Rocket, reckon you'd like our little power sessions down here, if riding hard with others it pushes you on more, when you ride regularly with someone and you know it's a proper session it makes for a bit more teeth gritting - you'd fly the rises well, I stick with my mate up rises now OK but they really hurt / get me blowing, bigger hills nearly kill me off when we're pushing on but as you say, on a track you can get away with being a gorilla / hooligan, as the only time you get any need to do anything like a climb is up the banks sometimes on a steep gradient circuit (Newport is 43%), to do this you can just slug it up there with a burst of power - the rest of the time the smooth surface allows you to fly and if you give me a drop in off the bank to the straight it's like having a turbo on board. Track riding is fun and sociable, good for group riding skills, worth a go. Edit: note that I'm talking about a timber banked track above, not a closed circuit - not tried one of those yet.

Rob are you using strava when on the track? We should get a little competition going between the guys that go there. Not been onto the track itself for a while Spoakes I tend to just stop off there while passing on a route as it has a cycle cafe. This is the Strava from my visit with Red Devil last year. At that point the track (its a closed circuit type) was being run anti clockwise www.strava.com/activities/88541859When I went back there with my boy after Christmas they had reversed the direction of the track so a new set of segments www.strava.com/activities/107161908/The for some reason someone (dont know why as it is a closed circuit with no pedestrian or other traffic ) flagged the main circuit as hazardous on Strava! www.strava.com/segments/4679466 so the leader board was lost

I'm off sick ATM and don't see myself getting out this weekend trying to get better for the London to Brighton. But while I'm off I think I'll fit my birthday presents (not until next Friday but hey)to the bike , two new tyres vittoria rubino pro III in red, and a pg850 11-28. My lezyne cfh bracket+pump May have a trawl through the pages to see what else I can find , I heard a whisper my father in law wanted to buy me a multi tool any advice on what's the best one?

Finally made it out for a slow ride. Many thanks to RobP and Reece for the company, slowing up for me today and bearing with it. I think I actually enjoyed it, however I'm in a bit too much pain to realise it just now. Here's to the next one. www.strava.com/activities/151102645/segments/3475768950

Red Devil I thought you did incredibly well today and pure determination got you up that A2 climb fella well done Was really worried about you by the time we got back to my house. Hope you are not in too much pain or have done any damage. Took a similar photo few weeks ago on the banks of the Thames with Dartford bridge in the background but thought we should do it again with three Triban 3's this time We need more South East members to join the rides now

Yes more on the next ride would be more than welcome! Even White T3a's :-) Lets mix it up a bit for the next photo. I bet the guy going up the A2 hill, isn't telling too many friends about the Β£300 bike that he could catch, well done Reece your a star.
