That's the stuff (for threads, not bearings)

I drop a little of this stuff into the spindle gap every now and then - weekly in winter (or every few days when real wet), perhaps every few weeks in summer, my Exustar pedals don't come apart but they've been good for Β£23 and 9000 kms: www.chainreactioncycles.com/weldtite-cycle-oil/rp-prod5955

Top tips. Thanks guys. I have the TF2 stuff in a can and blast the pedals and cleats prior to a ride to stop squeaky noise (separate problem to the clicking). With it really just being a water displacer, I suspect oil format would be more effective so will keep an eye out for that. Halfrauds grease for the actual threads, it is then. Cheers.

Cheers. Well the cleats are on nice and tight. But I've had them a while. Maybe I'll try fitting some new cleats and see how that goes.

Two other things that come to mind: 1. cable end position. 2. a certain someone I know (not a million miles from here, about 20 actually) had the alignment tape left on his bike, this is positioned on the outside of the front mech' and it's used for aligning the thing when fitting it, it should be taken off as part of the fitting process but it's sometimes left on by the mech's - this caused a click in certain gears for said person . I think some Sherlockesque detective work is needed to determine all the possibles and pin down exactly what it is; reminds me of when I thought I had creaky cranks but actually it was the headset.

Thanks rad, will check out. Also will take my cleats off the shoe and clean everything out with some silicon spray. If still no joy, try some new cleats tomorrow.

sonnnet does this click happen in all 3 chain wheels or just the one? I had this a while back and it was a bent tooth on the big chainring holding the chain out which then pinged in further round the rev. Quick bend with pliers and quiet again. I've got the stuff to pull the standard cranks and bottom bracket out if you fancy a ride over to investigate it?
