nah, they're fine.
You might want to get a stanley knife and see if you can cut some deeper tread patterns though.

Seriously though, they may well be fine for many more miles, I like many on here have had tyres go the same way. It doesn't happen overnight so we've all ridden them before noticing and I've seen much worse. However the consequences of coming off at speed mean for a bike you ride fast it's not worth taking chances so the best place to 'use them up' would be on a turbo trainer, 2nd best the back wheel of a bike used for steady rides. Riding on CTC and Audax type rides I've seen several tyres worn down 'til the tube bulges out

I've just had another look at the pics in the OP.
(first pic) The bead should be under the clincher of the rim, or has it been lifted so we can see the fault?

I wondered if the tyre had failed so badly that it was coming out of the rim Thankfully not - I definitely wouldn't have risked going out on it afterwards if so. Not even I'm that dense (im)patiently awaiting the arrival of my Vittorias now.

On the subject of tyres, this happened to my rear Pro4 yesterday - only the second time out with the new tyres. There was a lot of loose gravel on the roads due to some recent flash flooding. Its holding air but the sidewall carcass is obviously weakened and I have ordered a replacement to be on the safe side.

Vittoria pro slicks ordered! Awaiting their arrival this week. Same here I had the pleasure if waiting in for a package this morning (it never arrived ) so decided to potter about in the front garden. When I was getting the tools out of the garage the sun was shinning on the T3's front tyre, blow me the carcase was perished and cracked. Phone my pal that works in Stockport to see if he could pop into Decathlon to pick up the x2 tyres + x2 tubes that they have on offer.

[.
Blimy, looks like those rims have some wear on them.
I didn't think they were too bad. They haven't done a vast distance but on the other hand it might be the excuse I need to upgrade to something better. These are Fulcrum 7s, marketed as a training wheel but not that cheap at around Β£140 for the pair although I paid less than that a year or more ago. Its the old conundrum - is it worth throwing more money at a Β£300 bike?
