Next week I am go to see my first ever proper bike race as the Women's Tour is coming to my area.
My radio programme will be live in Bedford next Thursday (BBC 3CR, 12-3pm) and I am really looking forward to it as both Laura Trott and Lizzie Armistead are competing.
If you live in the area and fancy popping down, do come and say hello. I will post details of exactly where I will be next week...

Stage 4 passes through Hertford on Saturday - I'm going to stand somewhere on Port Hill, the first QoM stage of the day. Looking forward to it...

Hi Pete - I live in Watford so not too far from you. Great pics from today. I'll be in St. Paul's square from 11 next to the BBC Three Counties radio car and then live on air from 12-3. If you are coming down, do come and say hello! The whole programme is about the day's cycling and cycling in general and you can listen to it on FM/DAB and also at www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p01y3x02I'm really looking forward to the day!

Great photos echo7. Thought the highlights on ITV4 were pretty good. Great support, too. Marianne Vos had a pretty good haul of QoMs yesterday, too - she's not given nearly enough credit, she's basically the Eddie Merckx of women's cycling... www.strava.com/activities/138494425

Need to pack the full wet weather gear today, it's a bit damp! Hoping everyone makes it around safely as some of the single track lanes will be tricky.

I missed Rosella Ratto today as she came through more quickly than expected. The chasing pack looked cold and wet though... Friendly marshals and policemen were handing out sweets to children spectating

Did you see that mad woman on the Disability Scooter, the riders just missed her as she crossed the road right in front of them, unbelievable.

Just watched today's highlights. Why do hometown routes look so much better from a helicopters viewpoint? Next time I hear the police helicopter overhead, I can pretend (deluded!), that I'm on a solo breakaway..........
