We all know it exists in the Automotive industry. Manufacturers sell the same car under 2 or more brands like Peugeot/Citroen, Renault/Dacia/Nissan, VW/Skoda/Seat, Ford/Mazda. But are cycle manufacturers doing it too? I recently picked up a Bianchi Via Nirone 7 2300. I'm sure you are all familiar with Bianchi's trademark frames with the curved top bar. Most of the Nirone's have it. But not this particular model. The frame is just like the Triban 3. It uses the same groupset. The brakes, wheels and seat are TEC whereas the Triban uses BTwin ones. The carbon fork is also just like the T3. Is Bianchi selling a rebadged Triban 3 in India. Not sure if that model is available elsewhere too. Can't post the photo for comparison as the net is too slow right now. Have been trying all day. Will try tomorrow.

It's just that I have that particular model and it is virtually the same as the Triban 3. Whenever I read something here, I realize it's applicable to my bike too. That's why I was wondering.

When a frame maker sells their frame to a bike maker (or should I say bike assembler?), it will be assembled into a bike with a choice of components. With limited choice in gears (Campy, Shim/Microshift), is it any great surprise if different assemblers sometimes use a similar mix of components? With carbon frames, I understand this phenomenon is fairly common?

It's close, but they aren't the same. Put one on top of the other in Photoshop.

Can you get the back wheel off the bike easily without removing the QR skewer?!

Can you get the back wheel off the bike easily without removing the QR skewer?! Glad it is not just me them. I'm having to swap rear wheels quite often ATM due to using the turbo trainer. I'm having to thump the wheel with my fist to get it out. Never know a frame like it, on my MTB the wheel come loose as soon as the QR skewer is released.

It is possible but a little tricky, best just remove the skewer - Rocket suggested this and once tried I've done it ever since, I can't be bothered faffing and it's easy to do, it pops out easily with the skewer out. Also change into the small rear cog, pull the rear mech' out the way a bit. Once in the habit it's fine to do, just never forget to stick the spring and nut on when it's out the hub to keep it safe and sound.

I've tried that (skewer out and in bottom gear) an it is still blooming difficult. Will check tomorrow to see I f my rear mech hanger is damaged as it really is very difficult to get the wheel out.
