I bought some socks and the bike computer yesterday but I might return the computer - does anyone know if it can be stem mounted, and is it any good?

If it's the same as the one they sold last year then no, it can't be stem mounted. I had that one for a good while and was pleased with it (I've since bought an Edge 200).

Oh dear! Really shouldn't have looked at this thread this morning. I checked the opening hours for Bank Holiday Monday and then popped out to my local Aldi (Bournemouth) to see what was left and I'm now over Β£60 poorer. I managed to pick up the last soft shell jacket in my size (blue - will clash with the T3 but hey...) and then got a little carried away picking up a pair of the casual shorts (a shorts plus detachable under layer combo), a waterproof jacket, a pair of socks and several base layers (2 tops and 1 bottom), which I've wanted to get hold of for a while. To be honest I was relieved none of the shirts were left in anything other than medium or small, and even then there were only a handful of those, especially the premium version. That said, the premium shirt I did see looked like very good value. Had to smile when I saw that the Tri-suit was only available in two sizes, both of which were too... ahem... athletic for my frame.

Grabbed a pari of socks and a light weight rain jacket thingy this morning. Packs up impressively small. There was quite a bit of stuff left but all in either small or XXL, lots of none clothing stuff though.

Sorry probably just mis-remembered. I wasn't really paying that much attention if it didn't start with M then I just moved on.

I picked up a pair of gloves but might pick up a couple of pairs of socks and another pair of gloves tomorrow if they've got any left.

They have the word cycling in the title and are hence more expensive. Just get short ones for when you have no overshoes on and longer work socks for when you have winter longs on. All this Horlicks about different zones for this and that and support areas is rubbish. They are just socks.

But they are ergonomic... they have all sorts of go faster stripes and a gel pocket around the ankle - just check out the 8 point foot/toe protection plan and silver anti bacterial coating spec list on the Aldi website!!

I was in Aldi doing the weekly grocery shop this afternoon and fell prey to the middle aisle. One of the lightweight jackets sized M jumped in my trolley while the missus was looking at the fruit. Don't know how it happened, honest.
Don't know the difference between socks and cycling socks, but if they are merino then I can squeeze a few days wear out of them when commuting which cuts down on the washing (so I'm doing my bit for saving the Earth which means I can buy more cycling gear, right?)
