Spoke to one of the bike guys in Decathlon in Edinburgh this morning and was advised that they're expecting the Alur in stock 'before the end of this month'. He reckons they'll shift a load of them and is frustrated that they haven't had them before now.

After going in to see Decca yesterday to 'note interest' in the Alur 700, I've received an e-mail today to say that they now don't expect to see any stock until 17th June!!!! WTF is going on?

The Deca Facebook site was suggesting a June release for the Alur last week but if it's May... I have a big work deadline early in June so I thought a June release would be perfect timing for me to start building the case for the Alur!

Spotted a sign in the Southampton Deca:
New road bike range availability Triban 500SE - end of May Triban 500 - end of May Alur 700 - 3rd week of May Cyclo-X - end of August Ultra - middle of May
They had a Mach 700 and 720 on display (Campy Centaur groupset looks very classy indeed), quite a few small red T3s (small frame and wheels makes the 50T chainring look huge!), several T3a, some T5s and also some T500s
In terms of the Alur, not sure what third week of May means as it's Friday 23rd already!

Went in to deca southampton to see if any alur 700 had turned up. And surprise surprise they are non there even the notice saying when the bikes where due in had been removed. So glad I got my cube race cd now, not a fan of the finish on the mach range of bikes there don't look very nice but can't knock the spec. I'm sure there loosing customers everyday due to the supply issues.

I'm sure there loosing customers everyday due to the supply issues. Have to agree. Not to have your full 2014 bike line-up available in June of 2014 is an absolute nonsense. Other manufacturers have been selling their 2014 model year bikes for the past nine months or so.

I was initially interested in the Alur back in March/April glad I looked elsewhere now and I won't be surprised if a lot of others have gone to another brand having become tired of waiting.

From the tech specs...
Our new BTWIN ALUR Evo Vario fork is mounted exclusively on the BTWIN ALUR Evo Vario frame. The mixture of carbon and aluminium is ideal for achieving even behaviour with the BTWIN ALUR Evo Vario frame. We have achieved a filtering effect on very uneven terrain such as cobblestones. The design is aerodynamic. The brake is located as close as possible to the fork. Total (gross) weight: 550 g in size L
Can it make me ride like Lars?

Absolutely spot-on. I'm going to wait until the 2015 Cube range is launched in the next couple of months and then buy a discounted 2014 Cube Peloton Race. Alloy frame with internal cable routing, FULL 105 groupset and Mavic Aksium wheels. Current price is Β£999, which is a bargain. At circa Β£799 when it goes on sale, it'll be an absolute steal!

Anyone had a chance to test ride an Alur yet? Deca website shows they are out of stock of every size from XS through to XL in the warehouse now. Was hoping to pop in to my local Deca and try one mid-week but not much chance I suspect. Looks like this one will be going through the complex dance of stock levels that the original T3 went through, especially if it starts getting some strong reviews in the cycling press. Wonder when they'll be stocking up again.
