Well finally upgraded from my triban 3 and bought a carbon fibre Trek 5000 (Got a red one because we all know red is faster) Anyone know any details about the trek 5000? Also wanting to know anyone recommend any good cycling books? Just finished the Flying Scotsman

I can highly recommend David Millars "Racing Through the Dark", fascinating read.

Interesting @nickthenovice - Ned is the 'Ernie' to Boardman's 'Eric' - where's your radio show? Welcome by the way! ---- My last book was 'Inside Team Sky', not bad, ongoing issues though .

In ---- My last book was 'Inside Team Sky', not bad, ongoing issues though . Bit disappointed with it to be honest. David Walsh still has MAJOR Lance Armstrong issues that he kept throwing into the mix - which I didn't feel relevant. His '7 deadly sins' book was excellent, but of course that WAS about Lance Armstrong! ;-)

I love the two books by Cavendish, especially the first one. Those along with david millar book are best ones I've read by some margin and I've read quite a few. Tyler Hamilton one not too bad either.

The Tyler Hamilton and David Millar ones are good. The Death of Marco Pantani is hard going and a bit depressing if you were a fan. William Fotheringham has written some good one about Coppi, Merckx and a history of Brits in the TdF. If you want cycle touring, Andrew P Sykes Crossing Europe on a bike called Reggie and Mark Beaumont's around the world race are good. Yeah, I should ride more than I read:)
