I personally would like to see a road bike slant but am open minded. +1 :-)

Stay independent for sure. The name doesn't really bother me either way, but agree with Radchenister and ianmoss, keep the focus on road bikes. Including the mountain bikes would just split the forum too much.

'Triban Owners Club' is such a great does what it says on the tin effort but I think it's time to move forward. If a BTWIN/road bike/owners club option can be conjured up it would certainly get my vote
Still think it'd need a virtual plaque on the wall as a nod to the triban history

Maybe when open up forum just select either "Dirty Hairy Uncouth MTB" button or "Civilised Roadie" button?

Having recently joined I would just add that I personally joined the forum as it focused on the Triban 'brand' and road bikes in particular. I could have joined other forums but felt that the advice and subject matter fo the forum would be much more relevant which is someting that I preferred.
If the forum is looking to grow and move with the times then the move to B'Twin/Decathlon branding seems a sensible solution. Keeping it racing bike focused and opening up to newer models would still allow existing members with their wealth of knowledge to assist as the knowledge is likely to cross over, whilst still retaining the existing feel of the forum.
Not that my opinion counts for much as a new member, I am just trying to offer a different perspective on the matter.

The logical progression is just to include B'Twin road bikes.

Including the mountain bikes would just split the forum too much. TBH I don't have an issue with mountain bikers potentially coming on board. I have more of a problem with your helmet-cam-commuters-on-hybrids. They're a breed apart, in my experience.

I'm pretty relaxed about any potential changes. As we are completely independent, we can call ourselves whatever we like! So we could remain as the Triban Owners Club, until Tribans are a dim distant memory! Or we can evolve, to reflect the current bikes that Decathlon are selling. A suggestion is, B'Twin Roads (formerly Triban Owners Club)

As a noob, I like this forum for its accessibility, both in terms of the information available being pretty specific from the outset (though I echo captslog about feeling I'm missing out on stuff already!), and - as kombatcookie says - because this is the ONLY forum where pointless squabbling is conspicuous by its absence, something which is surely related to the restrictions of our shared interest.
Whilst I'd probably quite like to see the forum turn into a place dedicated to increasingly classic Tribans, expansion is probably a more rational route for the long term, and I'd feel a bit parochial fighting that sort of change.
Ultimately, as a noob I don't feel I have much say, so will leave it to the village elders, given the decisions made so far have created the forum as it is today :-)

Kind words @carrington , your view counts as much as anyone else's of course, even if you are a noob, longevity is one thing but balanced content and input is the ultimate aim . Sociability and inclusiveness being others.

I came here because I was considering purchasing a road bike, but hadn't done so because I couldn't justify it. I had a MTB to commute, so why did I need something else? I considered a Triban because of lots of reviews across the web about how good they were for a first time purchase and how cheap they were compared to other bikes. In one review I read, there was a comment about the fact that Triban must be good as how many other bikes have their own owner's club?
When I landed here, I found a nice niche forum of like minded individuals who enjoyed cycling and were proud of their bikes, their modifications and cycling in general. These 'enthusiasts' energised me and have got me hooked on cycling. I think I would have possibly bought a Triban anyway, but it is likely that without some of the enthusiasm here I would have stalled for several months or potentially stuck to commuting only on the MTB. I had never, ever felt the need, as an adult to go on a bike ride on my own. Not until I read about people on the TOC and not until I bought a Triban. Now, I can't get enough! I may have got the wrong impression, but I feel I have joined the ranks of a group of mostly middle-aged people reliving their youth at an affordable cost.
I quite like this quirky little forum (said in an affectionate way) and don't see a need for change - but that doesn't mean that I'm not open to it. If the forum or forum members are being offered an incentive to change, that is a different matter. I'm not sure whether the 3 options in the poll truly reflect what I feel, so I'm going to abstain for the time being.
P.S. I don't understand why BTWIN want to move away from the Triban name, but if they do, then so be it.

I would keep it independent of B'Twin, but for B'Twin road bike owners.
