I don't know if any ones done wind tunnel testing but there is a school of thought that says that aerodynamically speaking leg hairs will help stabilise the boundary layer leading to a more laminar flow and less drag (or words to that effect).. Which reminds me of a strange conversation I had with a woman in a cafe who insisted on telling me that her boyfriend went for the full back, crack and sac to reduce chaffing. Quite put me off my sausage roll.

Sorry Dave, should have put a health and safety warning on that one.

Sorry Dave, should have put a health and safety warning on that one. There's some lads out there with fantastic wit and imagination. How do they think them up?

No problem fella, just give me a shout when you need me and I'll come over ... or whiz bike up in car and we'll do it here - I have all my buddy's crank tools here still, so strike whilst the iron is hot!!! While we're in fixing mode .... I might also need your assistance, looking at the FD. Had gear slippage issues at the weekend on the cassette (which I've sorted, I hope) but there's some reluctance to shift down from big to middle ring on occasion. Warned you of that - the 28 is asking a lot of the system and needs to be treated carefully - as part of the settling in thing a few tweaks are inevitable. Front end ... remember me talking to you about the sticker showing the set up tolerances that you still had on your bike (why?), fd was set too high but I was reluctant to touch the front end with no new cable available here as looking frayed ... give me a call budd', we shall sort!

The rules state... Rule #33 // Shave your guns.
Legs are to be carefully shaved at all times. If, for some reason, your legs are to be left hairy, make sure you can dish out plenty of hurt to shaved riders, or be considered a hippie douche on your way to a Critical Mass. Whether you use a straight razor or a Bowie knife, use Baxter to keep them smooth.

Aye, I was prepared for it! It's certainly not unridable and managed to sort out the issue with the rears by increasing the tension as you showed. No idea why I still have the sticker on it, but I'll give you a shout at the weekend! Cheers mate!

I am coming round to the idea, quite tempted to get ready for summer! Thought I'd wake this Poll up again, as it is the most important issue on the forum .

I'm in the maybe camp. I'm reluctant to shave as once I start, it'll be a nightmare to keep on top of! Not to mention the missus already hates whenever I shave my beard to below a #4 guard, nevermind doing my legs. I do keep groomed however, before anyone visualises me as the next grizzly Adams! I understand that the pros do it as it's better for spills as it's easier to dress and also it's easier for post ride massages without hair, but I doubt I'll do it til I start club cycling. At least then I'll have strength in numbers to not feel a tit!

Photos please if you do Great idea - one leg shaved, one hairy for proper comparison. Also if you start riding in circles we'll know it's more aerodynamic!

I might do the shins and leave the calves to trail in the wind. I have before, not sure if I will again, depends how the tan comes along this year! A calf mohican, I like it! My legs haven't seen the light of day this year. TMI ahead. I trim legs, but not smooth, and also upper thighs and various other parts to stop chaffing, but I was doing that because of sweating profusely during martial arts training and before becoming a proper mamil. All done with a rechargeable trimmer.
