Hmm actually, if i go for 23c they are £45 a pair at wiggle with £5 voucher. 23 or 25, nothings simple with bike bits! The Pro cyclists seem to be going for the 25's. Same performance but better comfort so they reckon.

I've got 23's on my T3. 25's on the planet x. I prefer the 25's tbh. Take more on the impact side of things. I opted for the vittoria rubinos. I haven't had a single ......... in the past year. I've now fitted vr's to the planet x after the Michelin pro 4 blew the other day.

I've seen a hell of a lot of reviews saying the same thing about Pro 4 tyres, scary.
I ordered some 25c GP4000S earlier, so will see. They'll probably be an improvement over the Gators anyway. Will try to pick up some 23c GP4000 in a few weeks when they get sold off cheap as the new version is coming soon.

Rose cycles have GP4000s V2 in a twin pack, with inner tubes for £50.74. If you subscribe to their newsletter (rosebikes.com/newsletter) you get a €10 euro voucher emailed to you.

But postage is something like £7, and what if you need to return etc, you need to post it to Germany. The new version is no different except the coloured parts are moved to the tyre wall, so that all colours now come with black chilli in the tread. Previously they did not as the coloured silca bits don't adhere to it in the coloured tread...or somthing like that. Hopefully most places will sell off this old version soon cheaply, so I'd say hold fire.

I've ordered 23 and 25c just in case 25c does not fit with my guards

I ran 4 Seasons over the winter, no flats on those. Now the weather's a bit drier I'm back with the Michelin Pro4 Service course. Why the switch to the Pro4? they are not as puncture proof as the 4 season, so I guess it's speed you after?

I am running Conti 4 seasons 25. I think Whitney loves the 25s over the 23s. Feel better on the ride. Might give the GP4000 ago later in the year but for now I rather puncture protection over marginal speed gains.

If you have deep rims on your wheels, then longer valves are needed. Other than that, I think that longer valves are better as they are easier to hold when pumping tyres (on a small difference and it may be personal). P.

So the tyres have come and I've fit the rear one... There is 3 mm space at the most between tyre and mudguard. almost the same all around the guard. 2mm at the bottom bracket point. Bit too tight anyone reckon? Possibly when I flex the wheel a bit it will rub? Can't really test them as I might need to send them back.

I've put the 23c ones on. 25c just a little too snug. Shame as the 25c no doubt are better after looking at them. Getting the Gatorskins off of the Fulcrums was very hard. Each GP4000s tyre is 90-100g lighter than the Gator one! Bikes now 9.5kg

Read this thread with interest (and am going to look at more about tyres). I've got a T5 with the standard Hutchinson Equinox on at the moment. Haven't had any issues, but only done a couple of hundred miles. Haven't used the bike for commuting yet, but have just put Roadracer IIs on it to get ready. Question is, do I really need to spend £60 on a pair of tyres to replace the HEs to get something more puncture proof?
