Hey all i'm so unsure what do do with the red baron. I've had her nearly a year and love the bike but am stuck with the dilemma of how much to spend on a 300 pound bike??? Tho i need tyres as mine are cracking. Question is do i buy tyres or just get a new wheel set as skimming the site the stock wheels are apparently not very good? I'm a shorty so have the small frame with 650s. What wheel upgrades would be suitable Also what cassette could i get for a higher top end as i find i'm always normally in the tougher gears wanting more power?
Sorry i'm a bit of a noob to bikes

Might be bucking the trend here but if you've ridden with the stock wheels for over a year and had no issues why change them? Would you have thought the wheels were not so good if you'd not read it here?

Well the rear mech is getting a little noisy and was just looking at maybe a few upgrades as i would like to put down a little more power. To help get my average pace up a bit
After i got her out after winter it wouldn't free wheel right but thats prob a bit of a maintenance issue too hehe.

Would you have thought the wheels were not so good if you'd not read it here? +1 on that. There's not that much wrong with the wheels that a good initial sort out doesn't cure. There's an exception if you're using the bike under constant wet conditions as the seals into the bearings are not the best. If you buy a new rear mech it's likely to be just as noisy as they don't come adjusted out of the box and that's probably all that's wrong with the current one.
