At Christmas, in our family, it became a running joke that when asked if I've had a good one by all and sundry - the reply was 'yes, have you seen my new pump?' !

On a more serious note, a Facebook pic from my semi successful weekend outing . What you carry, what you wear, when you stop, what you eat, how prep'd you are etc. are all important factors:

This is what's inside: The Castelli ziplock bag came free with a set of leg warmers and was actually their suggested use once the packet was opened! Although I've informed the missus if she's struggling for gift ideas, a Rapha essentials case wouldn't go amiss! The bag fits a jersey pocket perfectly and contains the minitool, co2 cannister and nozzle with a control valve, innertube, puncture repair kit & a gel (just in case). I also usually add to the bag a bank card and a Β£5 note for any refreshments on the way. I hope I never have to use any of them (well bank card & money aside), but at least they're there if I do. I may take a look at the Leyzne mini pump recommended here as the Zefal one is a bit on the larger size & can be quite laborious, but it was bought alongside the T3 back in December 2012.

Apologies for taking this more off topic.....Rad and Toonsi, do you both carry a mobile phone when out on the bike? If yes, where do you store it?
My Mrs insists I carry one in case of emergencies. As my tools etc fit in a saddle bag I've been putting the phone in the zipped rear pocket on my jersey/jacket. On my last outing the phone ended up rather moist with sweat/condensation so think I'll keep an eye out for a suitable bag to pop it in.

I carry my HTCOne in the back left pocket (or just left if a single pocket), wrapped in a A4 sized sheet of bubble wrap that I've got loads of laying around here and place it inside a little glasses cloth bag with credit card in the wrap as well, placed vertical with head phone jack aiming cord out under left arm (to be precise ) .

Ta Rad, great idea. I have loads of those cloth glasses bags at home plus pretty sure there is some bubble wrap I can 'recycle' from work.
