Woohoo!!! Just spotted this in their email update. The local Edinburgh cycling forum has also been discussing this - it looks like they are taking over the TriCentre in Newington.

The Edinburgh store will be within walking distance of my work - much easier to sneak things home unnoticed!

Full carbon frame with some slight blemishes where the seatpost clamp had been - Β£80 and with the matching fork it came to Β£120. He said there were loads of similar priced frames left too, so may have to pop down if that's true!

My friend built a SAB a few weeks ago, I posted som details at triban3owners.freeforums.net/thread/3208/friend-built-bike

Obviously not seeking to make (too much) light of a very serious situation, but as a proud Triban owner all of this gushing talk of Planet X is starting to make me feel like a Ukraine naval officer based in Crimea!

My buddy, who raced Triathlon for GB has a similar view, he had a bad experience with a Planet X purchase a few years back and considers the frame he bought was dire with more resin than carbon in the mix. We had a discussion about it only last week, the conclusion we (kind of) agreed on, was it might be reasonable to say that with PX these days, you might be buying a frame from a dealer of frames who cares about what they're doing but may not be the specialists you'd like to think they are ... they might have gone to look at and QC the production issues in the far east, for perhaps a few more hours than you will have done, if aiming to buy direct from Taiwan on the internet . They've probably gained a fair amount of kudos via buying a fair few frames over time but whether they do the design and 'due diligence' themselves is the big question we wonder about. If we think big picture, having outsourced carbon fibre building processes for years, this end of Europe reaps what it sows. #controversial

I was talking to a friend the other day. He was saying that the Planet X frames are not 3k carbon and as such they cannot be called carbon on the continent. They have to listed as plastic.
They do a good job of keeping the price of component and accessories down. Always a good deal to be had.

In terms of complexity and KISS principles re materials, you have to query why you'd buy far east carbon over an arguably more robust aluminium frame?
