If your Triban has to be red, it looks like it will have to be "preowned". The white 3A is a good option, but have you thought about a black 5A? Spec is like an upgraded red 3.
I found a local(ish) 7 for £360 on eBay, so there are bargains to be found. Good luck with the search, or wait for next seasons models?

Decathlon Warrington have got 4 of the White T5's in stock (all size 54)
A very good alternative for £100 extra if you can't find the T3 in red

I have the White T3a - It's a very good bike, I have upgraded it over the last few months, including adding carbon forks (the original ones are steel) The new 300SE has carbon forks, hence a little bit more money. Same MicroShift gearing (which I like very much) If you want the red original T3 make sure you check out the BUY AND SELL section of this forum. You can guarantee it's a genuine owner and probably been looked after / upgraded. Sorry to hear about your stolen bike. Ian - what difference does the carbon fork make to the riding? I have a T3a I got off ebay barely used and I am *very* happy with it. Previous owner had already put new pedals on. I guess the only thing I would say is the ride seems slightly hard. However this could just be me getting used to road bikes! I couldn't believe how hard you have to pump the very thin tyres up... I'd be interested what other upgrades you did as well.

3 or 3a whats the difference ? The two main differences are:- 1, The colour, red has a certain appeal to some people! 2, New red 3s are seemingly made with a dose of "unobtainium"! When you can't have something, we want it more? Some don't like the shifters on a red 3, some don't like the fork on a white 3A. Both of these components can be changed, if they worry you. Buy one, either one, and you will have made a good choice!

Hi Android,
I'm new to this forum too and got my Triban 3a on Sunday. I don't have much experience with road bikes but I absolutley love the bike.
I've only done a short, 30 minute ride, and a 15 mile ride so I don't have too much to go on, but I think the bike is great for the money it costs. I only have one nag. The pedals it comes with aren't great, their fine at first but this is something I will be upgrading.
The ride at times can be harsh, especially when you hit a pothole, but I think this comes from only riding mountain bikes prior to this. It can also probably be fixed with gloves, extra bar tape? and maybe new wheels at a later date. My ride was at night so I imagine in the day potholes are avoidable, making for an easier ride.

Glad to hear you are enjoying your 3A. Compared to a mtb the ride is harsher, but as you realise, there are things you can do:- Eg, a light, so you can see potholes (& broken glass?) in the dark. Padded gloves, (have you got a local Lidl?). Tyre pressure, our tyres need to be highly inflated, but you can go OTT. Some have gone from 23's to 25's on the tyre size. Larger tyre, lower air pressure & more comfortable? Bar tape. Padded tape, a second layer of tape or gel pads under tape. This can also help. Grip. Are you gripping the handlebars too firmly? New forks. Save weight & add comfort by going to carbon forks. An expensive option, but sometimes you can get a good deal on them. These are some of the things that could help, which combination will work for you is a mystery. But you will find plenty of opinions on the forum.

The carbon forks to me feel a little more forgiving than he steel originals. By that I mean they neutralise the vibrations from the road into my hands and wrists. You say the T3A feels a hard ride, this is partly down to it being a road bike, (the Tribans are very well made frames, so are nice and stiff. The forks are a good upgrade in my opinion, I delayed getting better / different wheels to do the forks. I list of my upgrades are HERE along with the associated costs of bargain buys. - the 'Your Triban' section is acting as a diary for many of us to show what we are changing on the bike. Have a look through some of them to see how much you can do with a Triban as a base to start from.

Coming from a mountain bike where everything creaked and the gears sounded like they was on the verge of falling off, these gears sound perfectly fine to me.
