After many sore hands I finally decided to convert my T5 to flat bars. I did it today using SORA flat bar shifters and brake levers, also changed the cassette to an 11/30. Been out for a quick 7 miles and am pleased to say it all works and is a lot more comfortable

Lit 123
Thanks, this is what I used
Handlebar - Bbb Mtb Handlebar Topbar Os Bhb-04, 580mm, 5Β°, 31.8mm, Black (Amazon) Bar Ends - BBB BarEnds classic BBE-07 (Amazon) Grips - FWE Ergonomic Lock On Grips (Evans) Brake Levers - Shimano Sora 3500 2013 Flat Bar Brake Levers (Evans) Shifters - Shimano SL-3500 Sora 9-Speed Road Flat Bar Levers For Triple (Probikekit) Cassette - Shimano HG50 9 Speed Cassette 11-30 (wiggle) Chain - SRAM PC971 9 Speed Chain (wiggle)
I also flipped the stem but am thinking of maybe swapping it for a stem with a steeper angle up to raise the bars up a bit more

Hmmm....very tempted now. I fitted an adjustable riser which has helped reduce clicky neck! Did you have make any cable length changes or just use the existing ones?

I renewed all the cables but it would have worked using the old cables, I used the old cable sleeves as templates for the new ones so they are the same length

Conversion done. Adjustable riser makes it look a wee bit odd. But its comfy. may cut the bars down a bit at each end but will see where my hands end up while in use. SGS Suitcase Toolbox with drawers matches T5...Scandal! www.sgs-engineering.com/ If you want one.
