Thought about keeping the T3, but can no way justify having two bikes - Just think how many handbags my wife would want to buy if I did that?? ;-) LOL, that's why I can have what I want as she already has enough handbags to open a shop!

Nope! ;-)

Been away for a few days, but just managed to unpack my planet x bike. Must say my first thoughts are of the bike being extremely good value. It comes with Vision Team 30 wheels, never heard of them, anyone know how they compare to my old Shimano 501s? Photo to follow, as soon as I work it out!

Blimey, those wheels are being sold for Β£260.00 on Evans website and pretty much over Β£200 anywhere else. Shimano 501 (the wheel set I was expecting) are about Β£80.00 on average.

I was in the Planet X store the other day, I was told that the vision wheels were going on special anytime soon.
They seem good wheels, very nice looking!
Hope you like your new plx bike. Happy times eh?

Out in the Algarve for my wedding anniversary this week, we came across a group of serious UK club cyclists refuelling at a waterfront bar, where there were a few Planet X bikes lined up alongside some rather expensive looking Cervelo and Felt carbon.
Can only assume the Tribanistas of the group had already been through and were progressing with the next stage of their tour! ;-)

Im undecided on what bike to go for next, so many bikes to choose from but the Pro Carbon seems best value for money. Before I pull the trigger on a Pro Carbon on the cyclescheme I wait patiently to hear how you get on with yours first and of course some picks. How does the geometry compare to the T3?

No worries, will see what I can do. I went for the large size having had a 57 triban. ( I'm 6 foot) The PX is slightly bigger all around, so may opt for a shorter stem in due course.

I bought a matt black planet x pro carbon almost at the same time as you and am really enjoying it. Funnily enough the one thing I'm thinking about changing is getting a slightly shorter stem too, as I feel a tad too 'stretched out'. Other than that it's light, stiff, shifts beautifully and looks great.
One thing to consider if you're doing cycle to work through planet x is that the scheme charges the shop a fee and planet x pass this on to the customer so you pay %10 on top of the voucher that you get. Seems fair as they can't be makin much of a margin as it is.

Good to hear, I certainly agree. Have gone for a deda 2 90mm stem, which seems to make a difference. How tall are you, and what size did you get in the end?

I'm 5'11" and went for a large frame with mostly the default sizes for the stem/bars etc. My other bike is a fixed gear steel track bike (its an SE Lager but I believe that they use the same frames as the Fuji Track) which I bought in 56cm and feels pretty compact in comparison.

I'm 5 11 and got the large PX. I've flipped the stem. It's done the trick
