It seems strange to me, that when we are looking at bikes (n+1) we consider secondhand, because they can offer great Value For Money! But when selling, we hope for minimal depreciation on the bike, and recoup as much as possible from the upgrades! Upgrade bits if you enjoy upgrading, the upgrades might make a quicker sale - but increase value? Tribans (especially preowned), are entry level bikes. At this level, does better seat/seat post/groupset/wheels/tyres etc make much difference to the value?

Not really, but it can turn the bike into an Β£700.00 spec bike for a lot less money. Probably only worth doing if you are in for the 'long haul' with the Triban............ bit like me. ;-)
