I suppose if it's mint then not really a big deal? I think we hand over our pics to the world when putting them on the internet.

It's against Ebay rules though and if you complain Ian, they will take the listing out.
I had it happen tome a couple of times, someone used the picture of what I was selling in their advert.

Doesn't bother me, but I think, as a matter of trust the actual item should be photographed if it's for sale.

It's eBay - I would agree in principle and if I ever sold things I would take good pics, showing warts and all (may need to soon with mounting bits) ... but I don't expect it to be done by others, an element of buyer beware on there .

I would let eBay know though as captslog says, the listing to me does appear a little, ahem, say no more ...

The problems I had were that in stealing my picture it mislead my potential buyers. People tend to look at the listings and remember what the photo looked like, because that's how our minds work. As 'he' was trying to sell the same item at the same time I put in a complaint and had it removed. In Ian's instance the photo is misleading because it looks as if the bike comes from a much nicer home than is possibly the case.

Disappointing that Ebay haven't banned him- I'm assuming you reported it?

I've reported it both times, eBay only have a narrow list of complaint to choose from.

I asked the seller if the bike he was selling was the actual bike in the picture. The reply, "yes it is"

I asked the seller if the bike he was selling was the actual bike in the picture. The reply, "yes it is" I might drop him a line then...

It has been agreed that if this user re lists the Triban 3A he will use his own picture...
