Just checked my old road bike and frame size is 57cm (that's the seat tube length) and crank length is 17cm. I haven't used this bike since last year when I managed some short rides (30 miles) without any discomfort. I think this means the 57 is almost certainly right for me.

Geometry question: are there any differences between frame geometry for the T3, T3A and T5A? What sort of effect does any difference have on sizing i.e. even if there are differences are they negligible?

bike wise - now, you didnt mention that your budget is or isnot within your bike budget so im taking it as it isn't. I'd say go for the Triban 5 Another question... If you had the choice of the Triban 5 and 5A, is the extra Β£70 for the 5 (white) worth it? I've just noticed that if I take a day to go to Decathlons in the North, the Sheffield store has stock of the 5 in a 54 (I see this isn't available in a 57 so maybe it's too small anyway).

Sorry when i meant about budget i was referring to the 5a but if you can achieve and get a 5, in the right size, you will grab a bargain cuz you have (in a way) a Triban 7 frame. But if no go keep to the 5a, its still a beautiful bike for the money, plus look at what cycling plus have said in its review about it against a scott. I cant see why not?

Hey guys, I'd like to know if the 5A's wheels are resistant on uneven and even small pot-holed roads. On the official page of the 5a ( Romanian one) , it says it is both for road riding and 'uneven' roads...however, how do you actually feel it?

I think I'm unusual here as my 5a is still on stock wheels.
About 900 miles in they appear fine having run on normal UK roads, pot holes and all along with regular drops of curbs. They are very slightly out of true but not enough to cause the brakes to bind.

I'm amazed - thought ALL frame sizes were based on the seat tube length? Am I just badly informed or is Decathlon being a bit French in this? Any formula for calculating what I should be seeking in top tube length?

If your current bike has a seat tube of 57cm I'm guessing you're pretty tall?

No, I'm 173cm (or 5' 8") with an inside leg of 83cm. Very similar stats to me then, which means you can make either the 54 or the 57 work for you. With the 54 you will have a lot of seatpost exposed. With the 57 you may require a shorter stem. I have a 57 as the 54 felt too small. I've changed the stock 100mm stem for an 80mm. The only way to really find out is to try them.

Hi I'm currently looking at getting a Triban 3. My issue is that I can only get hold or a red triban 3 in 63 and was wondering if this was too big? I am 6ft3 but my inseam is only around 33-34 I don't have long legs:( This is my first road bike so I am a bit clueless and the Decalthon stores are too far for me to realistically visit. Otherwise would the white Triban A in 60 be ok for me?

Guys, I've got a little problem with the size of the 5A. It might not FIT in the elevator! Can someone who has a Triban 3/3A/5A measure the sizes? Length and height ( with wheels on, not just the frame). Thanks!

Hi folks I am newbie thinking of a t5 or 7. I am 5 11 inside leg 29 so I think a 60 is the size for me. However they seem to disappear of the shops pretty quick . Does anyone know the lead time for these bikes.
Andy
