I adjusted the saddle height & it made a crunchy gritty sound! Removed the seat post & found it and inside the seat tube covered in grit thrown up by the rear tyre! I had only done one wet ride of 30 miles then fitted βguards anyway. Also the rear hub seems to be making a noise too! I suspect the hub seals are not too good & dirt has got in. I havenβt checked yet but will report when I do. So owners without βguards fitted need to be aware of water & grit getting down inside the seat tube & possibly causing undue wear & corrosion as well as everybody's OE wheel bearings possibly wearing out a bit quick. Has anyone else found this?

Sadly the wheel bearings were famous for problems. If you do a search on here you'll find numerous posts about them.
The main trouble stems from not enough grease in there at the outset, and they are also adjusted far too tight. These two factors resulted i the early demise of quite a few wheels hubs. Some people had them replaced as warranty items I think.
If you haven't done this yet, take them apart, clean, grease and adjust.

I had my rear wheel replaced under warranty just before Christmas because the bearings were in awful condition. A week or so later I had it in bits to re-grease it. Had it in bits again this past weekend and the bearings are worn/rusted again. Completely clean and plenty of grease but they still feel gritty, not happy.
The seat post is one thing I've never had out, so perhaps I should next time I clean the bike.
