The FC3 was reviewed in cycling active last year (October I think) with a good write up. But I can't find it online anywhere.

I don't have one, but I have seen them and looked at the website in the past. Overall, they look like great bikes, pretty well spec'd at this price, but nothing too special. The main thing to consider is the geometry. Just from looking at it, the frame looks quite aggressive and more suited to out and out speed. Probably not ideal for leisure/sportives.
The comment has been made a number of times that the Btwin range really lacks any carbon bikes that have a more relaxed/sportive geometry. It is a bit of a shame, as this is the case with the new range as well. "No Gran Fondo/sportive machine, aero road bike, or a super light climber. B'Twin's design philosophy is very much based around racing." (road.cc). For us tribanites wanting to upgrade to carbon with a similar geometry, Decathlon doesn't have an option at the moment, but the FC5 may suit you.
I would consider Planet X for an upgrade if you want something a little more relaxed.

Pretty sure @mcdenster has one? Cheers DelBoy ya machine!! I've got a FC3. Don't know if it was a typo on behalf of the author ref the FC5. Think Btwin only did a Facet5 under a few variations. Anyhoo, I'm not gonnae harp on as I don't think you could get a tried and tested carbon frame for under a grand plus you get a few tit-bits. I got mine for Β£800 due to a small scratch. Best thing I've ever bought. AMEN.

Stu. I pointed this out to allay any misconceptions. I have a lowly FC3 with a humble Tiagra gs.
Thanks for your input.
